Kuldeep GHARATYA

Kuldeep has recently been appointed to the Head of Engineering – City Planning, Commercial Development, Technology & Data at TfL. This role focuses on delivering the engineering solutions whilst ensuring the business units take account of all engineering direction, legislation, guidance and business needs. He is now responsible for building and delivering the engineering capability for these three exciting areas for TfL.

A Masters graduate from UCL, he is an industry thought-leader in how to deliver systems engineering in complex domains, such as rail and transport, and TfL’s drive to create a more forward-looking Technical Strategy. He has been at the vanguard of establishing an innovative culture in TfL and delivering tangible benefits to the business through an award-winning Innovation team. This capability was also applied more widely in the transport industry through an appointment to the role of Engineering Director at the Transport Systems Catapult.
