Mr. Lee Ling Wee

Mr Lee Ling Wee is the Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer of SMRT Corporation and President of SMRT International responsible for driving growth for the company. At SMRT International, Mr Lee leads business development, and one key project is the signature Rapid Transit System (RTS) between Singapore and Johor Bahru, Malaysia. 

Prior to this, Mr Lee was the Chief Executive Officer, SMRT Trains for seven years responsible for service delivery, operations and maintenance of Singapore’s North-South, East-West and Circle Lines, as well as the Bukit Panjang Light Rail Transit.  Under his tenure, SMRT clinched the operating contract for the Thomson-East Coast Line, and improved commuter experience and rail reliability significantly, surpassing one million mean kilometres between failures (MKBF). 

Mr Lee has more than 30 years of experience in management, engineering, maintenance and operations. Before SMRT, Mr Lee served some 20 years in the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) in various senior leadership appointments, where he directed fleet management, competency and resource optimisation programmes. He also honed his expertise in engineering and maintenance, airworthiness, integrated supply chain and life cycle management of the entire RSAF aircraft and weapons systems.

Mr Lee holds a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile in France, and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore.
