Dr. Sang-Min LEE,
Vice-President, Department of Comprehensive Transport Research

| Dr. Sang-Min LEE graduated from Yonsei University and the same graduate school. He joined The Korea Transport Institute at 1989, and has been performing the transport economic and transport industry tasks since then. In 1995, he was selected as chevening scholarship of British Embassy, and then went to study abroad at the University of Leeds. He received a Ph.D. degree in transport economics at 1998. Since his return to the Korea Transport Institute, he has successively fulfilled Head of National Transport Database Center and Director of Dept. of Planning and Administration consequently. In 2009, he was sent to the World Bank at Washington D.C. in USA as a senior transport specialist for 1 year to build the network between KOTI and World Bank. Currently, he is director of Dept. of Comprehensive Transport at KOTI, and is focusing on the development of multi modal integration of regional transport system called "One Nation, One Transport City" as a flagship project of the Korea Transport Institute |

Dr Bindu N. Lohani is Vice-President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for Knowledge Management and Sustainable Development and a member of the ADB's Management Team. Prior to assuming his current post, Dr Lohani was Vice-President (Finance and Administration) of ADB.
He has held several positions, including Director General of the ADB's Regional and Sustainable Development Department (responsible for sectoral and thematic areas like energy, transport, water, urban development, environment and governance) and Special Advisor to the President on Clean Energy, Climate Change and Environment. In his 25 years in ADB, he has worked in various capacities, mostly in infrastructure and environment work of the bank. Before joining ADB, he worked for the Government of Nepal (relating to the infrastructure department) and was Division Chairman of the Environmental Engineering Program at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok.
Dr Lohani holds a doctorate degree in engineering. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering of United States, and is a diplomate of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. |

Mr Masaki OGATA

Mr. Ogata joined Japanese National Railways (JNR) in 1974 and then JR East when JNR was divided and privatized in 1987.
He established the basic policy of customer service based on customer satisfaction, which has been one of the most significant issues since the start of JR East. He became the Director of the Transport Safety Department in 1997 and was engaged in drafting the 'safety middle term plan', and now he is considered as a leader in the field of safety within the company. He was appointed as Executive Vice President and Head of Railway Operations Headquarters in 2008. He was in charge of the daily operation of the railway, which 1.7 million passengers use daily, and led the preparations for the opening of the Tohoku Shinkansen between Hachinohe and Shin-Aomori on 4 December, 2010 and the increase in its operating speed to 300 km/h from 5 March 2011.
He has been responsible for overseas related affairs since June 2010, first as Executive Vice President and from June 2011, as Vice-Chairman. Also, he was in charge of IT and service quality from June 2010 to June 2012 and he has been in charge of technology in general since 2012.

| Mr Jay H Walder is the Chief Executive Officer of the MTR Corporation, Hong Kong, which is regarded as one of the world's leading railway operators, with an integrated approach to rail transport and property, and which is building on its success in its home base of Hong Kong with a growing portfolio of rail and property related operations in the Mainland of China, Europe and Australia. He has enjoyed a distinguished international career in the public transportation sector, which includes more than 20 years working in the rail industry in the United States and the United Kingdom. Before joining MTR, Mr. Walder was the Chairman and CEO of the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority. From 2007 to 2009, he was a partner at McKinsey & Co., London, where he was the global leader of the firm's Infrastructure Practice. Between 2001 and 2007, he was Managing Director, Finance and Planning at Transport for London and prior to that was a Lecturer at the Harvard Kennedy School.

Maximilian Strotmann is a member of the Cabinet of Siim Kallas, Vice-President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Transport. His main responsibility in Mr Kallas' team is in the fields of maritime transport, logistics, co-modality and intelligent transport systems.
Since working for the European Commission in 1997, Max has gained profound insights into tourism and enterprise policy as well as financial management and control and audit issues. In 2006, he joined Mr Siim Kallas' team as a spokesperson, after which he became a member of the Cabinet responsible for anti-fraud policy and institutional IT issues.
